Derailment modeling using ADAMS (2003)

The main purpose of this project is to find the way to estimate the derailment ratio without measuring the geometrical imperfections and analyzing the rail and vehicle.

The first step was to build a modal of vehicle and rail and using ADAMS to analysis the model and gain the derailment ratio.

Then we applied the existing geometrical imperfections to find derailment ratio for various speed of track.

By using the result of acceleration at different parts of the vehicle we could estimate the critical acceleration for derailment.
